The Morské oko beach swimming pool in Tornaľa is one of the most popular summer attractions in Gemer region. It is located in the Králik district and was first opened in 1969. Its center is a natural swimming pool with an area of approximately 15,000 m², the depth of which ranges from 1.2 to 2.2 meters. The area also includes a unique natural lake called Morské oko - a karst abyss with a diameter of around 60 meters and a depth of up to 38 meters. After being closed for several years, the swimming pool underwent extensive renovations and was reopened to the public in the summer of 2024. Today, it offers not only the opportunity to refresh yourself in clean water, but also relaxation in the sun, sports activities and space for families with children. Thanks to its history, natural uniqueness and pleasant atmosphere, Morské oko is an attractive place for both locals and tourists looking for summer relaxation in the heart of the South Slovak region.
