The cradle of art and the Slovak anthem, a town protected by mountains or the entrance gate to the Orava Region. The town of Hviezdoslav, as Dolný Kubín is also called, is enjoying the embrace of the Orava Mountains. It has inspired and keeps to inspire artists, but it even awakens the soul of poet in ordinary people. Visitors can discover several interesting places and landmarks during their walks along the streets, such as: The Čaplovič Library, The Florin’s House, The Orava Gallery, The Orava Museum of P.O. Hviezdoslav, The Park of Revivalists, the wooden colonnade bridge or the historic bell tower. In front of the town hall, Lipa sútokov sveta (the lime tree of the confl uences of the world) is growing.
